Civil society groups to watch poll

Thirty-eight civil society groups have formed a situation room to monitor the upcoming commune elections in a bid to ensure a free and fair electoral process. During a press conference in Phnom Penh yesterday, members of the situation room explained that despite having insufficient observers to monitor all polling stations – having only recruited 14,500 people to monitor 22,148 polling stations – the group remained optimistic. ….
